☆*:・゚ Watching the final season of Game of Thrones with friends. Georgina and I have been inviting Victoria over to our apartment on Sunday nights for dinner over GoT, using Victoria’s boyfriend’s HBO account. Last week we had Chipotle, and this week (yesterday) we made tteokbokki. We also had strawberry shortcake to celebrate Georgina’s birthday.
March
In February, I looked forward to a Jacob Banks concert. In April, I’m looking forward to a Tom Odell concert and Bruno Major concert. In between those months — March — I didn’t think I would have much going on. But it’s turned out to be the most eventful month yet: I did a photoshoots with three local Philly bloggers, my mom visited me in Philly, Jennifer visited me in Philly, I met up with three groups of friends over one weekend in NYC, and I started a new project (see next section!!). And it doesn’t stop there. On the last day of March, I flew out to LA! The occasion is my youngest brother’s spring break. I’ll be in LA until Saturday (April 6). So yeahh that’s why I haven’t been super active in the blogosphere this month. I’ll be working on replying to comments and catching up on Bloglovin’ throughout this week, and hopefully I’ll be caught up by then!
February
January was full of changes. February felt a little more stagnant, comfortable. Yet it was certainly eventful. I’m worried that I’m being busy without being efficient. This month I’ll be searching for that January energy and figuring out how to reallocate my time and what new changes I can be making to move myself forward.
Happy Chinese New Year!
Happy Chinese New Year!
This photo was taken the first time my family visited Beijing in 2005, a year before we would move over from LA. I rediscovered this photo when I visited home over the winter holidays. We must have had the photo printed on silk years ago, and my mom unearthed it recently and got it framed. I was charmed by the photo, if I do say so myself, and asked my dad if he could try finding the digital copy for me, which he did.
January
At the beginning of the month, I visited Beijing, NYC, and Kona, and I got back to Philly the third week of January, but it still feels like I just got back! I haven’t adjusted back from Kona’s time zone, which is five hours behind Philly. I keep going to bed around midnight but not falling asleep until 2:30-3:00AM. Adjusting back from Beijing’s time zone was much better (which is 13 hours ahead of Philly). Luckily I don’t have a rigorous schedule so I can afford sleeping in, though that’s probably why I haven’t yet adjusted. Maybe staying up until 6:00AM to finish up this blog post will set me back on track. Or will it only make it worse?? I think I’m getting a bit delirious. Please enjoy the rest of the post that I wrote earlier this morning, before the onset of delirium.
Small changes I’m making
“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
Most of the time, I find popular mantras, affirmations, pep talks, or words of wisdom meaningless or painfully obvious. But in the past few months, I’ve developed an appreciation for them and have realised that it’s all about timing. The same mantra may be meaningless at one point in your life or even most of your life, but be exactly what you need to hear at another. And right now, this is the one I need to hear.
