☆*:・゚ It’s not usually fun having to stay up late to get something done, like writing this blog post late Sunday night/early Monday morning to publish later Monday morning. But I feel blessed to be writing this so late, because that means that I’ve just had an amazing Sunday evening having friends over, cooking together, eating together, watching Game of Thrones together, and scrolling through Twitter together until midnight. More late nights and good memories, early mornings and happy writing, please! There are only three more episodes left of the season, but I would love to continue having friends over for dinner once a week even after Game of Thrones is over.
☆*:・゚ Leftover birthday cake for breakfast–my roomie Georgina’s! Now finished.
☆*:・゚ Rainy day baking. I finally made my favourite scone recipe again–apricot rosemary currant scones.
☆*:・゚ Was inspired by a fellow bookstagrammer to start making iced rooibos lattes, because it’s finally the season for iced lattes! I had an iced rooibos latte for the first time four years ago and have been obsessed ever since–it tastes like unsweetened Thai tea! I don’t think most cafes have rooibos lattes, but anytime I stumble upon a place that does, I’m always sure to order it. Anywho, this past week I popped by a local coffee shop and saw that they sold loose leaf rooibos, so I bought myself a lil pack and have been experimenting with making my own iced rooibos lattes. I haven’t made it quite right yet, but I can’t wait to eventually perfect it. I should probably look up a recipe instead of guessing.
☆*:・゚ This past Saturday was independent bookstore day and my favourite used bookstore had an amazing sale over the weekend–$2 for hardbacks, $1 for paperbacks, 25¢ for mass markets! I’m always glad that my favourite used bookstore in Philly is on the way from my gym to my apartment, but I’m extra thankful this week. Check out my haul on Instagram.
☆*:・゚ Saw Bruno Major with Georgina and LL! This was my second time seeing him, the first time being just over a year ago. Last year I vividly remember that there was a terrible snow storm the day before Bruno Major’s concert, and it was such a chore figuring out how to get from the suburbs into the city for the concert the next day with no public transportation running (we ended up catching a Lyft, which was $65 for our round trip, and our concert tickets were only $15 each). So this year, I was thankful for the dreary rain on the day of Bruno Major’s concert. It was inconvenient, but at least the public transportation was working and we didn’t have to pay an exorbitant amount of money for a Lyft. I have a short post going up next Wednesday to recap! (Dang, Bruno Major this past week and Tom Odell the week before that–I’m on a roll!)
What was a bright spot in your week?
