I only have one full month left of college! Whaat? (A month + some weeks, but that’s still only one full month.) I just need to take it day by day and focus on making the most of each one… *I say as I continue to fall into Youtube holes.* I’ve been trying to stay out of my apartment for as long as I can each day, because once I get back to my apartment, it’s game over–don’t expect any productivity from me! As a homebody, staying out of the apartment for extended amounts of time is a real challenge. I could honestly stay at home, not talk to anyone for days, and be totally content with life. I told a friend this the other day and she said she couldn’t do that but she wished she could. I think maybe it only works for me because I still have my blog as an outlet. Thank you guys for being here for me!
Books
The Blinds by Adam Sternbergh // ★★★★☆ // I had been wanting to get my hands on this book ever since I read the blurb. It sounded so interesting and for some reason I imagined a virtual Texas like how it worked with San Junipero in Black Mirror S03E04, but The Blinds (the town) was really just in the middle of nowhere in Texas. That realisation made it a little less compelling for me, but I also think it wasn’t fair of me to make that Black Mirror comparison because Black Mirror is next level. Overall, The Blinds wasn’t anything crazy, but it was a quick, solid read.
Movies & TV Shows
The Greatest Showman | I watched this at my local theatre with a friend and we almost cried several times! So magical and lovely. After watching the film, I played the soundtrack on repeat for two weeks. My favourite songs from the track are “A Million Dreams,” “Never Enough,” and “Rewrite the Stars.”
Call Me By Your Name | I streamed this online. So pretty. The last four minutes tho. Discovered Sufjan Stevens and loving “Mystery of Love” and “Visions of Gideon.” After watching the film, I watched three hours worth of press junkets whoops.
Music
I finally got to see Bruno Major live! Haven’t gotten around to the full blog post on it yet, but I will!
I’m playing “Goodie Bag” – Still Woozie and “Penitent Love” – Ben Zaidi on repeat, and “Wait” – Maroon 5 always gets me hype.
Cafes
The Her Campus Bryn Mawr team had a bonding brunch at First Watch! Well, that’s what it was supposed to be, but then almost everyone on the team bailed, so with the two other people who were left, we decided that we’d invite our mutual friends and have brunch on Her Campus Bryn Mawr anyway.
Had a lovely afternoon at Pie & Plate Cafe with Victoria on the first day of spring break. Full post on the blog! Also visited Plenty Cafe with Alice over spring break after a morning of thrifting. I didn’t end up thrifting anything, but Alice got a few pieces. And of course, I’m always hitting up Green Engine Coffee, whether it’s spring break or not.
Shopping Haul
Cute spring dress | Hello Molly moves and motives midi dress in mustard. I subscribed to Hello Molly so that they could tell me when the dress was back in stock, and as soon as I got the email that it was, I bought it. Then a week later the entire website went on sale. Oh well. There’s a cutout in the front of the dress, and I hoped that it’d still be okay to wear a normal bra, but it’s not, and I’m too flat to not wear it with a bra, so I’m thinking of buying a white short-sleeved bodysuit to wear under it. I really especially love the skirt of the dress.

Lately
This month involved lots of hanging out with friends and eating out! There were also three snow storms.
Our Her Campus Bryn Mawr “team bonding” brunch at First Watch almost didn’t happen because almost all local cafes that day were closed due to post-storm electricity issues. First Watch was one of the few cafes open, so there were tons of people and there was a long wait. We waited at the Starbucks next door until our number got called and took a group selfie meanwhile. I need to work on my selfie skills.
The Bruno Major concert was also post-storm, which led to transportation issues, but Georgina and I were determined to make it because it was one of the few things we had been looking forward to these past few months. Public transportation wasn’t running, so we Lyfted, which ended up costing way more than our concert tickets, but the concert was wonderful, and it was Georgina’s first concert in Philly too!
I finally got off for spring break mid-March, but I still had to go to my Penn classes, as Penn’s breaks don’t overlap with mine (the Tri-Co, i.e. Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Swarthmore). This meant that I had my regularly scheduled weekly coffee date with Louise and Steph right before my evening Penn class. Penn’s new food hall, Franklin’s Table, had just opened at the beginning of that week, so we went to check it out and tried Little Baby Ice Cream’s Thai iced tea and coffee toffee ice creams.
Bomi and I tried so hard to coordinate a date to hang out over break, but somehow it just didn’t happen. We finally made it happen the week after spring break, and with Delaney too! Our original plan was to go for happy hour oysters, but the places with happy hour oysters that we tried to hit up were all full, so we went to Local Wine & Kitchen for good ol’ fashioned happy hour margaritas. Followed by pizza and Criminal Minds at my apartment coz you gotta. That’s the real party~
I hosted a Spa Night event on campus on behalf of Her Campus Bryn Mawr, which was really just a ploy for me to get rid of all the products we’ve been sent that have been sitting around in my apartment. We got rid of them all! I would have brought more products if I had known they’d go so quickly, but I also couldn’t carry over anymore (I carried three bags!). Some of my friends come to the event as well and even brought games. I played Cards Against Humanity for the first time!
Okay it’s the end of March. Can the weather warm up so that I don’t have to keep wearing my ankle-length parka everywhere all the time? I’ve been throwing on bright and colourful outfits to counteract the gloomy “spring.” Weather like this makes me want comfort food. Besides pizza, I’ve also been obsessed with summer rolls and Vietnamese coffee. Obsessed! If you ask me whether I want to eat out, I’ll always say yes. The question isn’t whether I want to eat out but whether I should. But I’ve got all these enabling friends who love eating out as much as I do! Someone stop us!
How was your month?
