Earlier this year, one of my blogging goals was to do a photoshoot a month, and I did pretty well keeping up with it during the first half of the year (spring semester of junior year). However, I stopped doing photoshoots over the summer because I wasn’t seeing very many people, and the people I was seeing, I wanted to spend quality time with and not shoot photos. Coming back to school for senior year, I haven’t been picking up my camera very often, but I’ve been creative in other ways, thanks to the intro design class that I’m taking.

I did manage to get this mini shoot in with Kat. We found time whilst waiting for friends to show up for dinner in Chinatown and spent no longer than ten minutes shooting (maybe just five minutes). I mean, we couldn’t not shoot her in that Eggie blouse! On our way to Chinatown, a dude complimented her top (“fierce!”) and asked where she got it. I feel like it means a lot when a stranger compliments you and takes time to ask about it, because it’s so easy to just keep walking!
I think it’s cool how Kat matched the super feminine blouse and heels with a boxy camo jacket (from the men’s section actually) and distressed boyfriend jeans. I think the backdrop also suited this outfit somehow. Urban chic?? (Maybe just urban LOL.) We had planned to walk a little further to shoot in front of a pretty mural, but this just worked. I think the mural might have been too busy, whereas the uneven paint job of the wall we shot in front of was interesting but subtle enough.
Not gonna lie, we did feel a little awkward about onlookers wondering why we were shooting in front of trash, but… ART!
