Last fall and spring break, I filled my days with creative endeavors, and since I haven’t been working on my own creative personal projects this school year so far, I thought that I would use my fall break to make up for it (I wanted to try an Instagram challenge and the 10×10 wardrobe challenge). But alas, there are too many things for me to do, so I won’t be able to go as overboard as I usually do (last fall I tried a new recipe, shot my new watch, had an autumnal photoshoot with friends, and made cookie butter freakshakes–even I’m impressed!). BUT. It’ll still be a great fall break, and my future self will thank my past self for being productive. And I’m actually interested in the work I’m doing, so that’s a plus.
Work on my senior thesis // My goal is a page per day. That’s reasonable right? My first draft is due the Friday after fall break (my zeroth draft was due last Sunday hah).
Finish Project 2 for my design class // It’ll be due the Tuesday after fall break. It’s an animation project and it’s gonna be time intensive. I’ve already started working on it, so I can say that for sure o.o I’m hoping to minimise the hours I’ll need to stay up the Monday before the project is due.
Brainstorm 10 interviews for Her Campus // (And I might potentially have to additionally draft a whole week of content.) Her Campus has two kinds of articles: features and profiles. I’ve been writing profiles because it’s basically the interviewee writing the article for you haha. But I’ve also been additionally writing feature articles to make up for writers who don’t get their articles in on time, of which there are always a few, unfortunately. I want to spend the majority of my time in school working on my thesis, so I want to get these articles out of the way over fall break!
Draft 9 posts for Athena’s Guide // Athena’s Guide is the school blog for self-care and academic resources; I’m the only blogger! I drafted a bunch of posts over summer break, so I haven’t spent any time on it this school year so far, but my queue has just run dry. If I draft 9 posts over fall break, that’ll carry me through the rest of the year!
Apply to 7 jobs // That’s how the job hunt works right? I needed to give myself a number for this task, so I went with 7–one per day.
Read 3 books // I need to finish Touch by Courtney Maum, and after that I plan to read What’s That Pig Outdoors? by Henry Kisor and Dancing Without Music by Beryl Lieff Benderly. The last two are both non-fiction books related to Deaf culture that I found whilst looking for books on American Sign Language linguistics for my senior thesis. They won’t help me with my specific thesis topic, but I find them interesting, so I’m going to read them anyway!
Read the script for Mr. Burns // This is the play that I’ll be the digital marketer for next semester!
Cook 3 recipes // I need to start eating real food! Honestly I don’t know how I’ve been surviving?? I don’t know how I haven’t become obese from all the junk food I’m eating??? I’ve been pretty good about not snacking excessively until lately… Why did my period and midterms have to coincide? Recipe for disaster!
Declutter and decorate my room // What’s new?? I’ve been trying to do this since last year lol. I want to print 18-27 more photos for my wall. And I need to figure out why there are so many boxes in my room. And figure out what to do with the contents of those boxes.
Morning yoga // Because I know I won’t have the motivation to haul my ass to the pool over the break. Thus, morning yoga. I think this won’t be too difficult to achieve, except for the fact that I tend to schedule early morning meetings with people, which means I’ll have to wake up extra early for yoga.
Only drink tea (no coffee!) // Mostly because I spend too much money on coffee. And it’s probably not that great for my body anyway, especially if I develop a dependency on it, which I think is gonna happen soon (if it hasn’t happened already) unless I reign myself in. I’m really gonna miss La Colombe’s draft lattes though… I’ll probably be ordering more teas and hot chocolates at coffee shops now.
Vlog // I vlogged my spring break last year and that was pretty fun! And I also gave daily vlogging a shot the week before school started. There’s definitely a lot I need to work on, so that’s what I’m doing! I don’t promote my Youtube channel too much because it’s very experimental, but once in awhile the content isn’t completely amateur. I love editing vlogs but finding music is a paaaaaain.
What are your plans for the week?
