I’ve been [lovingly?] teasing Kat about how she’s a walking Adidas ad. So when it came to an idea for this month’s photoshoot, we (I) thought it’d be a fun thing to do (an Adidas “ad”). We were going to have Jennifer join us for the shoot and do an Adidas vs. Nike (or some other athletic brand) “face-off.” I threw that idea out there randomly, mostly just to mess with them, but they were totally on board (except Jennifer had lab so couldn’t make it) (but it’s the thought that counts). They’re crazies for being my friends and I appreciate them very much.
Over spring break I did a lot of shooting in Old City, so this time I wanted to shoot in Center City. We made a beeline for Rittenhouse Square and found a security shed covered in ivy, which we used as a backdrop.
After shooting at Rittenhouse, we kept walking through the city in search of a cute street and got distracted by an apartment that had this covered sidewalk (?). I couldn’t resist the empty space and clean lines. I usually try my best to straighten my photos, but I quite like how that middle one is tilted.
Experimenting with harsh light again (like in the second photo of this post). Still got stuff to work on, but Kat’s killing it with that look! Givin’ us a bit of seriousness and a bit of fun lovin’.
This street didn’t look like all that much to my eyes, and the trees lining the street were quite sparse, but it turned out surprisingly well in the photos! Maybe a street worth returning to. Across from it was the Rosenbach Museum and Library.
Kat and I are good friends (maybe) (depending on when you ask and what we’re in the middle of haha), so this was a very comfortable shoot for me. She featured briefly in my shoot with Stephanie as well. I especially love her pose in that second-to-last photo. Whilst I was trying to think of what we could do besides the standard walk-toward-me/walk-away-from-me/stand-in-the-middle, Kat had a little rest on the banister. I loved the soft look and asked her to hold it. I think it turned out well, and I love that you can see the Adidas logo on her hat and the Adidas stripes on her jacket, and more subtly, the Adidas logo peeking from her jacket and also over her leg.
PS: more photoshoots, more kat: asian representation, breaking up with social media, dorm tour
