After sweating it out in Italy, I couldn’t wait to spend the last week of my summer vacation in Berlin. If you’re looking for a place to go that has a comfortable summer temperature, Berlin is the place.
The first meal I had in Berlin was a schnitzel, as recommended by our waiter. Schnitzels remind me of tonkatsu/炸猪排/deep-fried pork cutlets. But my favourite part of the meal had to be the dessert. We shared some fancy apple pie and orange creme brulee with pistachio ice cream.
After dinner, we made a short walk to the Brandenburg Gate.
There’s a lot within walking distance of The Westin Grand Hotel, which is where we stayed at.
A peek at the Berliner Dom and Berliner Fernsehturm.
Spotted Bandy’s Currywurst and decided to pop in for a bite. It was delicious, but after walking a little further, we spotted many more places selling currywurst for much cheaper! (See what I got on Instagram!)
Bronze statues along Spree River. Spot the fake.
A quaint little shop caught our eye, so we had to check it out! Introducing: Tukadu Jewellery.
Fun and quirky customisable jewellery. Perfect to gift friends!
Made myself a pair of Brunch at Audrey’s earrings, and I’m in love with them! The bows were a pain in the ass to attach, but with the help of my mom, we put it all together. I really like these, if I do say so myself. Like, I think I could totally mass produce these and sell them?? Would you wear them? ;P
Mamecha, a green tea cafe recommended to me by Rae! Check out my full blog post here if you missed it!
Bought this adorable dress from BE C.
Discovered HORIZN STUDIOS. Beautiful, classic, minimal design. Mom generously got me the small tote in vacchetta leather, and we pre-ordered the cabin trolley in black, which arrived in the mail to my US address a few months later. If you follow me on Snapchat, you would have seen my unboxing! The packaging was so clever.
Our last meal in Berlin was at the Ritter Sport Cafe. Yes, they had real food in addition to chocolate!
The place we stayed at in Berlin was a very commercial area. My dad was there for a business trip after all! I wanted to check out a different scene and Rae kindly sent me some suggestions, so Mom and I spent a day walking around and hitting up those places. Unfortunately Rae and I weren’t able to meet up, but maybe next time! Goodness knows, there’s still so much of Berlin I have yet to see!
