It’s finally Fall Break! After I submitted my lab on Friday, I watched three Amanda Bynes movies. I still have homework to do this Fall Break so I’m not totally free, but I forced myself to not do any homework this weekend and just rest (well, I finished reading a book and did some blog stuff, but anything not related to school is what I consider “rest”). I’m so excited for this coming week, and in case you missed it on the blog earlier this week, here are my Fall Break plans.
- I’m so glad that the Bi-Co has the Social and Academic Honour Code, which allows us to have take-home midterms. It stresses me out having to take tests in the same room as my classmates, always worrying about where they are at in the exam compared to where I am (even though I know I shouldn’t, but I use that as a way to gauge whether or not I’m going at a steady enough pace to finish the exam in time), but the worst part is when the exam supervisor strolls around the room and judges you (even though I know that they aren’t, but it still feels like it). With take-home midterms, those stresses are removed and I can show what I know more accurately. I got my midterm on Monday afternoon, took it on Tuesday morning, and turned it in, even though it wasn’t due until Friday. So glad to have gotten that out of the way early.
- My whole class got an extension for a lab.
- Remember how stressful shopping week was for me? (Shopping week = shopping for classes and trying to get in the classes you didn’t.) Thankfully I got into all my classes despite how popular they were. But that also meant that there are a ton of people in my classes. Not everyone could fit in our Intro to Syntax classroom, so some people would sit on the windowsill. But our professor finally nabbed a new classroom for us, and it’s in the observatory! (Remember when I first mentioned discovering the observatory in my Happy List?)
- Free doughnuts on campus for some event I pretended to be interested in! Thanks Ilisha for texting me about it. My friends always look out for me haha.
- I did laundry so I finally have socks again. I need to buy more socks. Also I just realised that this was only my second time doing laundry in my apartment, which is amazing, considering we’re a quarter way through the school year.
- Thanks Jordan for driving May and me for grocery shopping! I also went a little ham at HMart and bought some hoddeok among other things.
- When people like my taste in music. Victoria and Ami came over this weekend and I had Spotify open, and every time they asked what song was playing, I felt all warm and fuzzy.
- Also finally seeing my best friends Victoria and Ami again. I feel like I haven’t seen any of my Bryn Mawr friends for years, since I’m always at Haverford with CS majors T_T
- Currently listening to World Is Ending by Matt and Kim.
What was the highlight of your week?
I want to make an effort to remember the little joys in life, so my 52 week challenge for 2016 is to write weekly Happy Lists.
