During the school year, I usually just stick between the towns of Bryn Mawr, Haverford, and Ardmore. I’ve frequented Starbucks, Hothouse Coffee, Green Engine Coffee, and Saxby’s Coffee, which are all the nearby coffee shops. But just one town beyond that is Wynnewood. It really isn’t as far as I think, so I don’t know why it never occurred to me before now to head over there whenever I start to feel like the town is getting too small.
Bomi and I had been wanting to go to a cafe together for awhile, to Green Eggs Cafe for their red velvet pancakes specifically (which are thee thing to [Insta]gram), but it’s not the most convenient place to get to (as in it’s not a close walk from a SEPTA station and we’re too lazy to walk any further), and it’s usually quite busy and crowded. Nevertheless, we were determined to go to some cafe, so we did a quick Google search and decided to check out Sabrina’s Cafe in Wynnewood.
I have an affinity for lights and filaments and mason jars, so I immediately fell in love with this place. Poor Bomi was left at the table while I scurried around the cafe snapping photos before our food arrived. So much for bonding time! This is what happens when you’re friends with me x_x
We ordered stuffed challah french toast (farmer’s cream cheese topped with bananas and vanilla bean syrup) for $10.29 and huevos rancheros (two blue corn tortillas topped with smoky chorizo sausage sauce, lime sour cream, spicy guacamole, two eggs and pepper jack; topped with a fried jalapeno pepper) for $10.99 to share.
Bomi is always trying to drag me out to breakfast at 7:00 in the morning all the way across campus even though neither of us have class until hours later. I’m not about that; I love sleep too much. So it was really nice that we got to go out for brunch together at a reasonable hour and have some delicious food at Sabrina’s Cafe–definitely a step or two up from dining hall food. We had a good ol’ time catching up, laughed a lot, and had some “serious” talk about relationships.
B: Do you know how to flirt?
A: …no? (I mean, technically I don’t know? I’ve never been trained?)
B: Do you know how to troll?
A: wut. (I love non sequiturs, but they make for hard conversation.)
B: Trolling is how you flirt.
A: …
A: BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA
B: What?? I’m serious!
A: ooooookaaaaaay
B: It works!!
B: Well, I guess I don’t have a boyfriend right now so maybe you shouldn’t take my advice.
I love this girl.

tl;dr– Bomi and I visited Sabrina’s Cafe over fall break. It’s restaurant-style, so more of a place to brunch than have coffee.
