I wanted to catch Ariane before she left to study abroad for the Spring 2016 semester, so we found an afternoon to hang out at Green Engine Coffee. It’s on the Blue Bus route (between Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges), which I traverse several times a day (because I’m a Bryn Mawr student majoring at Haverford). Each time we passed by, I’d peek through the windows, tantalized by the gorgeous aesthetics. It’s thee place to get your quintessential Instagram cafe shot.
Can you believe this? I mean, c’mon. Even their water dispenser is #aesthetic.
Even their barista is #aesthetic. His hair!! I bet they hired him on the spot. #creepershot
As you can imagine, I was flitting around with my camera and Ariane was left to her own devices, specifically her iPhone.
I wasn’t feeling coffee, so I ordered a Spanish Hot Chocolate, which is described on their menu as “thick, rich, decadent,” and boy was it! I’ve never had Spanish hot chocolate before. I thought it would be just like regular hot chocolate, but it was so thick, so rich, so decadent, like liquid fudge! Okay so maybe not quite as thick or rich or decadent as liquid fudge, but close. I’m sure there are places out there with more authentic Spanish hot chocolate, but it was a pleasant surprise as I was expecting plain ol’ hot chocolate. Spanish hot chocolate is officially my favourite kind of hot chocolate, though admittedly I haven’t tried very many kinds of hot chocolate (I want to try Zoella’s chocolate orange hot chocolate!). Now it’s the only thing I ever order at Green Engine. Once I ordered it and it came out disappointingly milky though, with only a slight hint of chocolate, but I’ve written that off as a fluke.

tl;dr– I recommend their Spanish Hot Chocolate! A great place for aesthetics, is work-friendly if you can find a table, but wifi is crap unless you have Optimum.
